The Theracare Leg Lifter has been designed to enable users to safely and easily get their legs into bed. This simple daily task can prove difficult or even impossible for many people that may have lost muscle tone and therefore strength and general mobility. If getting into bed is a task too far, the general wellbeing and independence of a person may be adversely affected.
Often, the only solution to this everyday problem is to use some means of assistance. This could be another person such as a partner; family member; carer or alternatively, equipment to assist you such as a Hoist, a Rotoflex Turning Bed or a leg lifting device.
The Theracare Leg Lifter will actually lift the legs up and over onto the sleeping surface, requiring very little movement or repositioning, unlike alternative leg lifters that simply lift the legs beside the bed, this is a key difference that distinguishes the Theracare Leg Lifter from many of the alternative devices available. The motor is quiet and strong enough to lift severely oedemic (swollen) legs. For larger legs there is a wider leg rest available as an option. The Theracare Leg Lifter can be specified to be used on either side of the bed.
Theraposture have developed the Theracare Leg Lifter so that it may be used on a fully adjustable care bed - our Theracare Standard. When the bed is raised or profiled, the Leg Lifter moves with the bed allowing users to fully benefit from the bed's functions whilst being able to get into bed safely and independently.
The Theracare Leg Lifter can be fitted to virtually any non functioning domestic bed.
The height of the Leg Lifter is fully adjustable with straps and a stability bar that secures it to the bed. It can be fitted easily and only weighs 12kg.
The Theracare Leg Lifter is made from polyethylene making it robust and easy to keep clean.
