It is our experience that often, a standard bed is a possible compromise on the requirements of the users. Whilst the entire range of Theracare Beds offer an extensive range of features as standard, we are willing to, and have the capacity to adapt and modify these beds to further personalise the solution.
As manufacturers, we have the resources and experience to establish through assessment, the correct solution to meet the needs of each customer and then to deliver the solution to them.
Mesh linked padded rails
There are times when adult care beds are specified for children or adults that are of similar proportion to children. The MHRA stipulate that the maximum gap between the side rails on care beds should be different for the following user groups:

Adults – the maximum allowed gap is no more than 12cm
|
|
|
|
| 2) |
|
Children under 12 years of age and adults of a similar proportion – the maximum allowed gap is 6cm (half of the adult permitted gap)
|
To ensure that our beds are safe for children and adults of a similar proportion to children, we suggest that our mesh linked padded rails are used.
They are only available on the following two beds:

Theracare Standard with either 2 or 3 side rails
|

| 2) |
|
Theracare Low with two side rails
|
Theraposture will not supply this system with any other bed within our range or any other bed from another company.

Pic seven shows the actual padded rails that are underneath the mesh netting. These ensure that there are no hard surfaces should a head make contact with the rails. The head and foot boards can also be fully padded to ensure that all surfaces are softened. |
